PIMPDALE,
NEVADA – This weekend marks the 43rd Annual
Festival of
Overexertion
held in Pimpdale, Nevada. The AFOO was once just a competition for the
weak and elderly; but now due to Al Gore's global warming the event is
now one of the most grueling sporting competitions in the world. This
two day event includes competitions such
as “Desert Sun Lawnmowing”, “Desert Sun
Sidewalk Marathon”, and the ever popular “Just
Standing In The Desert Sun”.
Once again the AFOO brings
people from all over the world, all vying for the coveted gold medals
which depict a prone figure with a washcloth on its forehead and a cup
of iced tea in its hand. The current medal holder in the
“Desert Sun Sidewalk Marathon”, Fazad Al-Baahmir
from Tunisia, is once again the odds on favorite.
Another competitor in
that event, Sven Lefelson of Sweden is quoted as saying “I
know I can handle the distance, and I would have won last year if it
just wasn’t so hot”.
